Pedigree Details

Sire:  Antaeus (Acord II  -  Argentan I  -  Einglas)

Antaeus is the Sire of 2013 Olympic and 2011 Show Jumping Global Tour Finalist 'Temple Road'.  Ridden by Ukraine International Cassio Rivetti, Temple Road is the former ride of Cain O'Connor and should be a very familiar horse to our Irish Showjumpers.

He is also sire of 2010 World Equestrian Games horse 'Anton' and Young Horse Champion 'Acapella' (6th at Bundeschampionades & South of Germany Champion).

Antaeus scored 3 perfect 10's at his Stallion Performance Test for Jumping Ability/Scope, Rideability and for his Conformation.

Antaeus was successfully competed in German Youngster Tour Level to 1.30m with International Rider Markus Beerbaum before retiring injured to Stud.

Antaeus is by Acord II out of Arabesque by Argentan.  Accord II is conisdered one of the best sires of showjumpers of the current generation.

Acord II has produced more than 40 stallion sons, one fo the most famous is Broere VDL Atlantic, who was the Six Year Old Jumping Champion at the 1999 Bundeschampionate with Ulrich Kirxhhoff.  Another stallion son to shine with Kirchhoff is Action Here - like Atlantic, he is based in Holland.  In German his stallion sons are Acorado, Antaues, Alboretto, Ard Vivendi, All in One and As di Villagana.

His dam Arabesque was Champion mare at the (over all German) DLG Show.  She is the full sister fo Aramis, who was winner of the 1984 World Cup Fianl Jumping with Mario Deslauriers, Canada and 4th place witht he Canadian Team at the Los Angeles Olympics.  Shis is also full sister to Amani, Arabella, Adelane, Anatevka and Anmut who are all National and International Champions.

His Maternal Granddam Elfenfee is one of the most prolific mares of all time.

DamSire:  Verdi   (Quidam De Revel  -  Landgraf I  -  Calypso I)

Verdi is a son of the world famous sires: Quidam de Revel x Landgraf I x Calypso I and Rigoletto.  Father Quidam de Revel is a legend on his own.  He has an impressive list of palmares and he himself participated in the Olympic Games and in the meantime he is the sire of a lot of International jumpers and approved stallions over the whole world.  Grandsire Landgraf I is as famous as Quidam and has a long list of International jumpers and approved stallinons.  Verdi descends from the famous Holsteiner damline 474-a.  A motherline that produced the approved stallions Calato, Colombo, Carlino, Loxgraf Go, Montreal, Aldato, Nimrod, Cavalier and Cicero.  Also the International jumpers Brillante, Spiga, Dehlia, Kira, Deka, Ishan and Edminton are from this famous motherline.  Verdi’s dam Clarissa is a full sister to the mother of the Holsteiner stallion of the year, Calato!!

Verdi has a beautiful conformation and has very long lines, as well as very good movement, in walk, trot and canter.  Also important is his very nice and easy character.  Verdi is a tall stallion with a size of 1.72 cm, who jumps with a lot of scope and shows a lot of technique at the jump.  Verdi has everything to become the jumper sire of the future, both because of his type and because of his jumping ability.  At the performance test at Ermelo in 2005 Verdi was described as a stallion with a lot of scope and a stallion with a lot of potential as a jumper.  Verdi is approved for KWPN and the Holsteiner Studbook.

Verdi’s jumping capacity was assessed with a score of nine or higher in all the KWPN Stallion Competitions and he is the overall winner of his year with his rider Maykel van der Vleuten in 2006-2007.  The first crop of foals by Verdi are big, long-lined foals with a lot of presence, they have a very good trot and a noticeably excellent canter.

2nd DamSire:  Manhattan,   (Burggraaf  -  Abgar xx  -  Camillus)

Manhattan's sire, the stallion Burggraaf is well known for producing showjumpers and good type horses with a lot of movements.  His son S'Blieft won the very difficult showjumping Grand Prix of Calgary with Lesley Burr.  But also the Burggraaf offspring Florijn became 3rd in the Kir to Music at Parker and 12th at the Dressage Worldcup Qualifier at Carsbad (USA) with his rider Dennis Callin, also the talented horses Burggravin, Henza, Dumbo, Hevalientje, Jumper and Graaf are by Burggraaf.  Manhattan's dam sire is the famous thoroughbred Abgar xx, one of the most influential Dutch sports horse producers.  The damline of Manhattan is one of the most famous within the Netherlands, as famous as his breeder Mr. Huisman from Ter Aard.

This special motherline has produced the talented show-jumper Carrera (v. Joost), which won with Jean Claude Vangeen-Berghe the Grand Prix of Aken, also Valeur D. (v. Abgar), which two times won the Derby of Eindhoven with his rider Wout-Jan van der Schans, the International jumper Bonius with Rick Hemeryck and the national jumper Jogger with Magreet Boekee are out of the same lineage. Dam Utopia is an extremely nice keur mare and a very good example of successfully crossing a Groninger mare with a thoroughbred. Manhattan was reserve champion of the performance test in Ermelo and also reserve-champion of the stallion competition in 1999.  In 2001 Manhattan achieved high rankings in 1.35 competitions: for example 2nd Hertogenbosch, 2nd Denekamp, and many placings in the top 3 in the Twente Cup qualifications and the Final.  Manhattan was the winner of the 7 year old Championships at Etten-Leur at 1.40 m. level and than made his International debut in Leeuwarden with a second place!  At Barcelona he finished 4th and 6th!  Due to an outstanding foal report plus excellent results in auctions, championships and keurings Manhattan offspring are very much in demand. Manhattan’s daughter Solita won the freejumping finals at Ermelo.  His sons Stetter and Skik were successful in the competitions for 4 year olds at CHIO-Geesteren and Ermelo. From Manhattan’s crop a very high percentage of colts have been selected for the stallion selections in Hertogenbosch.  The offspring of Manhattan are very beautiful types with extremely good movement and superb jumping abilities.  Manhattan is the highest ranked M-stallion on the jumping index!!
