Pedigree Details

Sire:  Ustinov  (Libero H  -  Nimmerdor  -  Marco Polo)

Ustinov was the uncontested champion show jumping stallion of the 2004 KWPN Stallion selection.  His beautifully long-lined model, his superb canter and last but not least his remarkable jumping manners made him stand out amongst his contemporaries.  In the performance test Ustinov proved it all with not a single mark below 8.5 for the show jumping components and the canter.  Ustinov’s great exterior and jumping quality are deeply anchored in his pedigree.  His sire was the show jumping producer Libero H, who was a legend already in his lifetime.  Under Jos Lansink, this son of Landgraf I won a series of World Cup competitions and Grand Prix, the highlight being his fantastic victory of the s-Hertogenbosch World Cup finals in 1994.  His fighting spirit in combination with his jumping skill and incredible reflexes made the stallion absolutely invincible that season.  It is remarkable that many of his Internationally successful products also carry the blood of the Preferent-awarded Nimmerdor:  Liberty, Coonawarra, Ikoon and Iowa are good examples.  This fact makes Ustinov’s pedigree even more interesting because he is also out of a Nimmerdoe daughter.  Ustivon’s dam, the ‘Preferente Keur’  mare Haifa had already produced the KWPN licensed stallion Nijinksi (sire: Libero H).  Ustinov, who displays his outstanding jumping qualities again and again in sport, showed his first collection of foals in 2006.  The progeny report mentioned a uniform collection of well-developed, long-legged and riding-type foals that thoroughly fitted the rectangular model.  The foals have lovely heads and an easy canter that shows suppleness and balance.

DamSire:  VDL Douglas   (Darco  -  Capital I  -  Renomee Z)

Douglas  is a son of Darco, one of the best sport stallions.  With Ludo Phillpaerts Darco was sixth at the WC at Stockholm 1990 and seventh at the Olympic Games in Barcelona 1992.  Darco also consistently passed his show jumping talent on to his offspring.  With more than forty products performing at Grand Prix level, Darco belongs to one of the most influential progenitors of his age.  On his dam’s side Douglas carries the valuable Holsteiner show jumping blood of Capitol 1 who also is one of the most prominent sires from the past decades.  From a relatively small number of offspring Capitol 1 produced a long series of international show jumping horses such as the stallions Carthago, Cassini 1, Carolus 11, Capriol, Cento, Celano, Cardento, Dutch Capitol and Calato.  The dam’s line of Douglas goes back via the blood of Renomee Z to the mare Pantella (Ladykiller xx) from the lineage 318d2.  The licensed stallions Lido, Lehar and Leonardo are full brothers of Pantella.   This wide branched family also produced, for instance, Corofino I – II, Mill Reef, Camiros and Coriano.  Douglas caused sensation himself in the international show jumping ring under the Irish rider Conor Swail.

2nd DamSireFlagmount Diamond,   (King of Diamonds  -  New Chieftan)

Flagmount Diamond sired the half bred Hopes are High who won the 1998 De Maurier Grand Prix at Spruce Meadows with Nick Skelton(GB), in addition to Grands Prix at Dublin and Dijon, and the Team bronze at the WEB the same year. In 1999, Hopes are High won the King George V Gold Cup at Hickstead and was ranked 15th by the WBFSH.  Flagmount Diamond also sired Grade A Showing Jumping stallion Diamond Chin,  who in turn sired Eezy, who won the US Jumping Derby at Del Mar and the Grand Prix of San Diego.

Flagmount Diamond was ranked in the top 50 Sires of Show Jumpers in the World in 1998-1999 by WBFSH.  He is also sire to the Grade A Show Jumping mare Lady Glen, who herself was dam to John Whitaker's Diamond Cliff who won the speed class at ‘S-Hertogenbosch CSI-A in 2000.

Flagmount Diamond is the sire of current RID stallions Crosstown Dancer and Mount Diamond Flag and the Damsire to Classic Vision, Supreme Ginger, the sire of the 2nd Dam of the full brothers Sir Rivie and Ryde's Sea Quest.   Flagmount Diamond's progeny have collected an astounding 7,651 Showjumping Association of Ireland points.
