Pedigree Details

Sire:  Colestus   (Cornet Obolensky  -  Stakkato  -  Pilot)

Cornet Obolensky is 2nd in German Showjumping Breeding Rankings while dam sire Stakkato is ranked first.  This will give Colestus one of the highest breeding values of any young stallion available.

In 2013, Colestus impressively proved that scope and an exemplary way of jumping are not the only strengths he embodies.  He established himself in the International Youngster Tour in Germany.  In 2012 he was highly praised for his excellent way of jumping (with scores up to9.2 he won the title of Westphalian Champion of the 6-year-old jumping horses and reached after severl wins the eight place in the Final of the Bundeschampionat), but people still doubted his speed and power.  After reaching high rankings at various Youngster Tours like K & K Cup in Munster, the Balve Optimum, Horses and Dreams, Turnier der Sieger, the German Classics, the second place in the7-year-old premiere at the Bundeschampionat in 2013 as well as other placings in the Advanced (S) class, he dispelled these concerns, making himself known as one of the most promising young jumping horses in Germany.

Colestus's pedigree is this of a genius show jumper and top class sire and combines the stars of the jumping sires: Cornet Obolensky x Stakko x Pilot.  With a breeding value of 166 and 168 both Cornet Obolensky and dam sire Stakkato belong to the top 1% of Germany's leading show jumping sires.  Colestus embodies and inherits these genes.  In terms of covering, Colestus was 2012's most wanted jumping stallion in Westphalia, and the South German licensed 7-year-old stallion with the highest lifetime winnings.  His foals impress with athleticism and type, two of his sons got licensed in Munich in 2012 and four of his daughters have received a State Premium.  At the German Foal and Elite Mare Championships in Lienen in 2013 two of his daughters qualified for the final of the jumping mares, after they finished the free jumping on the first and second place and showed superior scope and an excellent way of jumping.  Also in the Final for jumping, a son of Colestus was placed.  In December 2013, four of his offspring were placed at the free-jumping Championships in Leipzig.

2014 is an exciting year for Colestus.  Training in Riesenbeck and the competition season started already, two clean, sovereign rounds with Marco Kutscher at the CSI***** Basel give us appetite for more.  We look forward to the long-term co-operation with Ludger Beerbaum Stables!

DamSire:  Manhattan,   (Burggraaf  -  Abgar xx  -  Camillus)

Manhattan's sire, the stallion Burggraaf is well known for producing showjumpers and good type horses with a lot of movements.  His son S'Blieft won the very difficult showjumping Grand Prix of Calgary with Lesley Burr.  But also the Burggraaf offspring Florijn became 3rd in the Kir to Music at Parker and 12th at the Dressage Worldcup Qualifier at Carsbad (USA) with his rider Dennis Callin, also the talented horses Burggravin, Henza, Dumbo, Hevalientje, Jumper and Graaf are by Burggraaf.  Manhattan's dam sire is the famous thoroughbred Abgar xx, one of the most influential Dutch sports horse producers.  The damline of Manhattan is one of the most famous within the Netherlands, as famous as his breeder Mr. Huisman from Ter Aard.

This special motherline has produced the talented show-jumper Carrera (v. Joost), which won with Jean Claude Vangeen-Berghe the Grand Prix of Aken, also Valeur D. (v. Abgar), which two times won the Derby of Eindhoven with his rider Wout-Jan van der Schans, the International jumper Bonius with Rick Hemeryck and the national jumper Jogger with Magreet Boekee are out of the same lineage. Dam Utopia is an extremely nice keur mare and a very good example of successfully crossing a Groninger mare with a thoroughbred. Manhattan was reserve champion of the performance test in Ermelo and also reserve-champion of the stallion competition in 1999.  In 2001 Manhattan achieved high rankings in 1.35 competitions: for example 2nd Hertogenbosch, 2nd Denekamp, and many placings in the top 3 in the Twente Cup qualifications and the Final.  Manhattan was the winner of the 7 year old Championships at Etten-Leur at 1.40 m. level and than made his International debut in Leeuwarden with a second place!  At Barcelona he finished 4th and 6th!  Due to an outstanding foal report plus excellent results in auctions, championships and keurings Manhattan offspring are very much in demand. Manhattan’s daughter Solita won the freejumping finals at Ermelo.  His sons Stetter and Skik were successful in the competitions for 4 year olds at CHIO-Geesteren and Ermelo. From Manhattan’s crop a very high percentage of colts have been selected for the stallion selections in Hertogenbosch.  The offspring of Manhattan are very beautiful types with extremely good movement and superb jumping abilities.  Manhattan is the highest ranked M-stallion on the jumping index!!

2nd DamSire:  Concorde,   Pref,   (Voltaire  -  Marco Polo  -  Lindberg)

Concorde is one of the youngest ‘preferent’ stallions in the KWPN.  Under  Jos Lansink Concorde won among other things the Nordrhein-Westfalen Grand Prix in Aachen and the Dutch Championships in 1994.  Concorde is bred out of the well-known ‘prestatie’ mare Flyer.  This Marco Polo daughter has produced as many as six International show jumpers.  Moreover, Melanie Smith’s famous International show jumper Vivaldi (Marco Polo) is a product of Concorde’s dam line.  Within breeding the stallion has shown himself to be one of the world’s best show jumper progenitors in record time.  His progeny are characterised in their jumping by their take-off, their quality and their manners.  In 2001 as many as seventeen progeny achieved Grand Prix level in show jumping .  Audi’s Jikke, Audi Kathja, Larino, Isabella, Jacquet, Humphry, Hickory and Grace are just a few examples.  2003 was an exceptional year for Concorde as four of his progeny qualified for the  World Cup Final in Las Vegas, these were Jikke, Conquest, Viktor and Marius Claudius.  Each of the four managed to win a Qualifier.  Understandably, Concorde was selected ‘KWPN Horse of the Year’ at the start of 2004.  Concorde has already about thirty approved sons carrying on his line in various European studbooks.  Concorde is on grounds of these achievements the only KWPN station approved by Holstein.
