General Information

RoundThorn Madios,  Born in 2002, 16.2hh,  Bay ISH Gelding by Condios out of Clover Heidi  ISH (Clover Hill/Pal Gondomar). 

Competed in Ireland before being sold to Bourns Sport Horses.   Competing with Andrew Bourns successfully in International Grand Prix and Nations Cup competitions on the Irish Team.    In 2012 ranked in the Top 5 of Irish Bred Horses and 132nd in the FEI WBFSH World Ranking List – Jumping Horses.   

 

Pedigree Details

Sire:  Condios,   (Coriano  -  Landgraf I  -  Famos)

Condios is line bred to the legendary thoroughbred Ladykiller.  Line breeding to Ladykiller is widely acknowledged in Europe as one of the most potent methods of producing jumpers.   His sire Coriano has the highest index in the Holsteiner breed for rideability.   Condios has inherited this trait which he passes onto his offspring.  Condios was Reserve Champion of the German Performance Test (score 129.9), finishing 3rd in jumping (score 123.73) and 1st in dressage (score 133.65).  He was awarded above-average scores in every category including a perfect 10 for Character, 9 for Temperament, and 9 for Constitution.  Condios was approved as a sire at the stallion inspections in Vechta by the Oldenburg Verband.  Condios qualified for the 2006 World Equestian Games in Aachen In 2005, under Dermott Lennon, Condios represented Ireland in:


-               The European Championship (7th in the Grand Prix and he best horse on the Irish team on the first day of the team competition);


-               Samsung Super League Nations Cup of Aachen (8th place and the best horse on the Irish team);


-               In two World Cup Qualifiers (4th in the Helsinki World Cup Qualifier);


-               In several Grand Prix (3rd at the Hague, 6th in Eindhoven, 7th in Zwolle, 11th in Madrid).
