Pedigree Details

Sire:  Larino   (Concorde  -  Armstrong  -  Ridder)

Larino is one of the most successful sons in jumping of the famous showjumper progenitor Concorde.  Under Peter Geerink Larino had a series of International successes already whilst young.  These included outstanding results in the Nations Cups of Rodderdam, coming  second in The Hague and third in Valkenswaard.  Above all he achieved a fantastic fifth place in the prestigious Hickstead Grand Prix.  His sire Concorde was Dutch champion and winner of the Nordrhein Westfalen Preis in Aachen with Jos Lansink.  Larino’s dam Erina (Armstrong) is a full sister of the renowned International showjumper Romulus (Damian Charles).  Just as the KWPN stallion Couperus (Naturel), Erina and Romulus stem from the ‘prestatie’ mare Warina.  The stallion Couperus which was exported abroad at a young age, provided in his short period as a stud the well-known stallion Mr. Blue, among others.  Great-grandam Rosalinda received a 10 for jumping in her ability test.  Larino’s eldest offspring have grown into successful horses themselves.  His son Redefin, for example, won the 2002 IAN Trophy.  In 2004 the IAN Trophy was won by Larino’s son Seabiscuit.  Also Arco’s Rebel and Siep are products of Larino who managed to reach the final in the IAN Trophy.  At the Hippiade his daughter Rimini won the Dutch Champion’s Title.  And Tolett left the competition far behind in the Saaveld free jumping competition.  These are very remarkable results of his small number of services.  Nevertheless, with an index of 161 Larino lists high in the ranking of showjumping horse begetters.

DamSire:  Manhattan,   (Burggraaf  -  Abgar xx  -  Camillus)

Manhattan's sire, the stallion Burggraaf is well known for producing showjumpers and good type horses with a lot of movements.  His son S'Blieft won the very difficult showjumping Grand Prix of Calgary with Lesley Burr.  But also the Burggraaf offspring Florijn became 3rd in the Kir to Music at Parker and 12th at the Dressage Worldcup Qualifier at Carsbad (USA) with his rider Dennis Callin, also the talented horses Burggravin, Henza, Dumbo, Hevalientje, Jumper and Graaf are by Burggraaf.  Manhattan's dam sire is the famous thoroughbred Abgar xx, one of the most influential Dutch sports horse producers.  The damline of Manhattan is one of the most famous within the Netherlands, as famous as his breeder Mr. Huisman from Ter Aard.

This special motherline has produced the talented show-jumper Carrera (v. Joost), which won with Jean Claude Vangeen-Berghe the Grand Prix of Aken, also Valeur D. (v. Abgar), which two times won the Derby of Eindhoven with his rider Wout-Jan van der Schans, the International jumper Bonius with Rick Hemeryck and the national jumper Jogger with Magreet Boekee are out of the same lineage. Dam Utopia is an extremely nice keur mare and a very good example of successfully crossing a Groninger mare with a thoroughbred. Manhattan was reserve champion of the performance test in Ermelo and also reserve-champion of the stallion competition in 1999.  In 2001 Manhattan achieved high rankings in 1.35 competitions: for example 2nd Hertogenbosch, 2nd Denekamp, and many placings in the top 3 in the Twente Cup qualifications and the Final.  Manhattan was the winner of the 7 year old Championships at Etten-Leur at 1.40 m. level and than made his International debut in Leeuwarden with a second place!  At Barcelona he finished 4th and 6th!  Due to an outstanding foal report plus excellent results in auctions, championships and keurings Manhattan offspring are very much in demand. Manhattan’s daughter Solita won the freejumping finals at Ermelo.  His sons Stetter and Skik were successful in the competitions for 4 year olds at CHIO-Geesteren and Ermelo. From Manhattan’s crop a very high percentage of colts have been selected for the stallion selections in Hertogenbosch.  The offspring of Manhattan are very beautiful types with extremely good movement and superb jumping abilities.  Manhattan is the highest ranked M-stallion on the jumping index!!

2nd DamSire:  Celano, (Capitol I  -  Lord  -  Flamberg)

Celano expresses tremendous scope, three good basic gaits and a fantastic character. In 1994 Celano was 4th at the Bundeschampionaat ridden by Rene Tebbel.  In 1995 he was approved by the KWPN and received a very good performance test report. Celano, ridden by Rob Ehrens, has meanwhile many sporting performances.  In 1998 he was near the top in the Dutch Championships in Hoofdorp and also, amongst his other successes, 6th in the Grand Prix at Champion Arnhem and 2nd in the Grand Prix in Leeuwarden.  In 1999 he had several successes, among them, Beek, Mierlo, Zelham, Nunspeet and Hengelo.  In Amsterdam he won the 1.50m and in 2000 he was the Best Stallion in Zwolle, 4th in the CHIO in Den Haag and 7th in the Grand Prix in Lummen.  Zwolle 2001 he defended his title and was once again hailed as Best Stallion 2001.  In 2002 Celano participated in another two competitions, Rastede and Rotterdam, where he showed just how fantastic he is.  Meanwhile we have retired the stallion from the sport and he is wholly available for his stud duties.

The progeny of Celano express good movements, a good character and nice types.  They are very rideable and portray a lot of jumping scope.  In the meantime his offspring are very convincing in the sport.  We become wide-eyed time after time with, for example, Olana Fortuna (Celano x Nimmerdor) who won the IAN-trophy for four year old showjumpers in Ermelo, Okasa Fortuna (Celano x Wellington) who became reserve champion at the FPP.  Omy's Boy (damsire Grannus) became 'Z' jumping champion with the KNF ridden by Hank Melse and Jeroen Dubbeldam recorded several victories with the mare Ochinda (damsire Ahorn).  Celano’s offpring also took the first place in Zwolle (2004) at the Offspring Championship.  The fourth place at the Gelderse Championships was good for the selection at the Nationale Championship.  In 2004  at Neustadt a/d Dosse, a son was found the best jumping stallion of the Stallion Selection. Celano stands at the top of the KWPN jumping index for stallions bred by other studbooks.

Celano's sire, the fantastic grey Capitol I, is the sire of numerous international showjumpers such as Concorde, Cartier, Calle and Curtis. Additionally he is the sire of the approved stallions CarthagoZ, Carolus I and II, Cassini and Indoctro.  Capitol died in 1999 at 24 years of age.  The damline of Capitol I is one of the best in Holstein. Folia, the dam of Capitol I, has unlimited jumping scope and is a daughter of the very successful 'S' jumping stallion Maximus and the Ramzes mare Vase.  Vase is a full sister of the showjumper Romanus who was very successful in '60 with H. G. Winkler.  In 1993 the stallion Lord died at 26 years of age.  A stallion who has made breeding history with offspring such as Livius, Lord Incipit, Loyal, Lugana etc.  That Celano has inherited his scope, technique and balance with a fine character from these bloodlines speaks for itself.
